Roger McNamee (rmcnamee@integralcapital.com) is a co-founder and general partner of Integral Capital Partners, a family of private investment partnerships that invest in the securities of expansion stage private and growth stage public companies in the information and life sciences industries. At Integral, Mr. McNamee has led venture investments in a variety of companies, including Agile Software, Brio, Cerent, Extreme Networks, Flextronics, GoTo.com, Healtheon, Homestore.com, Informatica, Inktomi, Intuit, MapInfo, Pivotal, Rambus, Think Systems (now part of i2 Technologies), and Visio. The Integral partnerships currently have assets under management of $1 billion.
Prior to the formation of Integral in 1991, Mr. McNamee worked for nine years at T. Rowe Price Associates in a variety of research and portfolio management positions. From September 1988 through August 1991, he was portfolio manager of the top-ranked T. Rowe Price Science & Technology Fund, a position that included responsibility for the firm's investment strategy in technology. In that role, he initiated venture investments in Electronic Arts, Sybase and other companies on behalf of the T. Rowe Price Threshold Funds. From September 1987 through August 1991, Mr. McNamee was co-manager of the T. Rowe Price New Horizons Fund, a diversified emerging growth fund with assets of $1.3 billion. As a member of the T. Rowe Price equity research department, Mr. McNamee covered such industries as computers, software, aerospace, telecommunications and office supplies.
Mr. McNamee is a frequent speaker at industry and investor conferences. He is also a panelist on Wall $treet Week with Louis Rukeyser and a frequent commentator on technology investing on CNN, CNNfn and CNBC. Mr. McNamee has a B.A. degree from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. Mr. McNamee is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
